What the Georgia material covers

Expect licensing law and unfair trade practices, the uniform provisions and form rules for individual accident and sickness policies, Medicare supplement, long-term care including its free look and lapse protection, the Long-Term Care Partnership, and the health side of the Georgia Life and Health Insurance Guaranty Association.

No Georgia life law appears on this exam, and practice on this license draws none.

Before and after the exam

The prelicensing course is 8 hours since June 2025. Holders of the CLU or FLMI designation are exempt from it. Apply through Sircon within 12 months of passing, and plan on 24 hours of continuing education every two years, at least 3 in ethics.

Common questions

Can I sell life insurance with this license?

How many prelicensing hours do I need?
8 hours since June 2025. Some sources still show the former 20-hour requirement.
How long do I wait to retake the exam?
14 days after a first or second failed attempt, and 60 days after each attempt after that.
