What the Georgia material covers

With 30 of 80 scored items on Georgia law, the state material weighs more here than on the combined exam. Expect licensing law and unfair trade practices, insurable interest and the insured's consent, replacement of life insurance, life advertising, required policy provisions, policy loans, group life conversion and the Georgia Life and Health Insurance Guaranty Association.

No Georgia accident and sickness law appears on this exam, and practice on this license draws none.

Before and after the exam

The prelicensing course is 8 hours since June 2025. Holders of the CLU or FLMI designation are exempt from it. Apply through Sircon within 12 months of passing, and plan on 24 hours of continuing education every two years, at least 3 in ethics.

Common questions

Can I sell health insurance with this license?
No. Health, disability and accident coverage need the Accident and Sickness license, through its own exam or the combined Life, Accident and Sickness exam.
How many prelicensing hours do I need?
8 hours since June 2025. Some sources still show the former 20-hour requirement.
What score do I need?
70 percent of the 80 scored items. The Georgia section counts toward that total and has no separate passing score.
